The Staff Nurse(SN)/Senior Staff Nurse(SSN) is a professional registered nurse responsible for the nursing care of a defined patient population. Care is provided through the use of the nursing process and in a manner that is cost effective while maintaining quality of care and optimal patient outcomes. The SN/SSN performs assessments, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions and evaluates the effectiveness of care. The SN/SSN participates in unit based and organizational quality improvement initiatives, meets continuing education requirements, participates in student/new employee orientations/teaching activities, upholds Patient Care Services philosophy and objectives, demonstrates professional growth and development through involvement in professional organizations, reviews professional literature and participates in continuing education programs.
BSN; or ADN with relevant experience may be approved by CNO if the candidate meets the following criteria: - Candidate experience is applicable to a hard to recruit area; - Candidate must provide proof that reflects current enrollment in a BSN program with a targeted completion date within one year of hire. Current Registered Nurse License (Georgia). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training. Organization and communication skills, must effectively speak, read and write English.
5+ years of experience to qualify for Senior Staff Nurse *Specialty areas may require additional certifications pertinent to work with their patient populations.
Experience in a like-setting (academic medical center); area specific advanced certification
