Position Description

The Manager Nursing Regulatory Programs and Patient Safety organizes and monitors the regulatory/resource and performance improvement activities for clinical nursing, support and/or administrative services to assure that these are in concert with both the mission and performance improvement plan of Hospital and Clinics. The Manager adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics. Responsibilities include assisting the clinical, support and administrative staff with the identification, documentation and prioritization of all problems and issues and affecting the delivery of patient care; selection of diagnoses, procedures and other health care processes for improvement efforts in accordance with demonstrated institutional needs, as well as TJC, CMS and other guidelines at both nursing and interdisciplinary levels, as necessary and appropriate; assistance with the identification/development of practice parameters, administrative and clinical policies and procedures, and review guidelines; assisting in design and implementation reliable, valid data collection instruments and monitoring programs, the analysis of data, and the development and dissemination of clear, concise reports for review at clinical and administrative service/committee/team meetings; and providing guidance on facilities evaluation, corrective and follow-up actions for assigned areas; and participation in development and delivery of didactic and practical components of the program's educational activities.

Position Requirements

BSN required. Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred (required within 3 years of hire)

Five years of experience with education and regulatory guidelines.
