SUMMARY:

TheGovernment Sales Specialist is responsible for Textron Specialized Vehicles governmentsales contract administration, including the development of new contractopportunities, government sales process improvement and communication of theresources we have available to grow our government vehicle business with salesstaff and the dealer channel.

Inaddition, the Government Sales Specialist will enter all government orders intoSAP, track vehicle delivery status and ensure timely management of work in thecustom shop.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of all currently held Federal, State andNational Cooperative contracts for TSV and Jacobsen turf equipment (17):

  • Ensure all pricing is up-to-date and current productionmodels offered

  • Perform all monthly and quarterly reporting required bycontracts in a timely manner

  • Competitive price analysis to ensure we are competitive inthe government sector yet maximize our profit margin

  • Communicate /train sales staff members on contracts held and how to utilize them to growgovernment sales.

  • Identifies andanalyzes new business opportunities using various sources, including Onvia, BidAssist, SmartProcure and trade show leads

  • Pursues and share (with sales team) opportunitieswithin Onvia, Bid Assist and SmartProcure

  • Quote new businessvia phone, web requests and e-mail requests.

  • Develop andimplement plans and strategies to cultivate new business opportunities withinthe Government and Municipal sector. Provide assistance to sales team for allState / Municipal / Government opportunities

  • Work with GovernmentSales Manager to respond to all formal solicitations including large bidpackages

  • Build andmaintain solid professional relationships with assigned contractrepresentatives, Purchasing Agents, Government Contracting Officers, and GovernmentContractors

  • Maintain all Government acceptableorder retention documentation (reporting).

  • Attends required trade shows andfunctions

  • Develop a “hit list” list of State and National Cooperative Contracts we need to target. Be fully aware of RFP deadlines, requirements and successfully respond

  • Continuous improvement and simplification of our government rebate process

  • Process all government rebates in a timely manner

  • Process all government orders

Qualifications

CAPABILITYREQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience(sales or government), OR graduate of Textron Specialized Vehicles SalesDevelopment Program.

  • Experience in a manufacturingenvironment preferred

  • Experience with Commercial/Industrialmarkets preferred

  • PC Literate, particularly with MSOffice applications and other business systems such as AS400 or SAP

  • Strong interpersonal skills capable ofpulling together internal and external resources

  • Ability to work and make decisionsindependently

  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurialsetting with little need for direction

  • Must be a highly motivatedself-starter

  • Strong communication, organizational,and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage more than one taskat a time and work well under pressure

  • Ability and willingness to work longdaily hours during peak government purchasing period

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associates degreeand minimum 1 year of relevant experience will be considered.
