THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT FORT GORDON MILITARY BASE. APPLiCANTS MUST BE DRUG FREE AND ABLE TO PASS A GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND CHECK.

Hourly Rate: $12.20/hour approximately 40 hours per week. Work hours will depend on building placement and weekends are required. We offer a full benefit package including sick leave, pension, dental and medical benefits after 30 days and two weeks vacation is offered after one year.

This posting is for an open positions in a seven day day dining facilities.

Work environment is fast paced and high volume. Typical meal can have a headcount of 400 - 1200 soldiers.

Work hours will be a swing shift, AM shift or PM shift in a seven day facility.

Job Description Food Sanitation Specialist Leader

General Nature of Work:

Under direct supervision of Assistant Dining Facility Manager and Dining Facility Manager. FSSL directly supervises and coordinates work activities of sanitation employees in the dining facilities. This is a working supervisory position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping practices for the dining facility.

Directs and assigns Food Sanitation Specialists in:

The cleaning, sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of woodwork, walls, windows, tables, counters kitchen and serving equipment

The washing of dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking vessels and utensils

Bussing services as required and ensuring condiments and napkins are refilled

Trash removal to disposal area and cleaning restrooms, entrance areas and back dock of dining facilities

Unloading subsistence and supply trucks, procuring storage from storeroom or refrigerators as requested

Monitor Pot & Pan water temperatures to ensure water is maintained at correct temperature

Ensure dishwasher is put together correctly, dispensing detergents, and maintaining the correct temperature

Assigns and monitor breaks for FSS

Promotes Safety

Conduct Cook mounts and safety briefing

Counsel FSS as it is warranted, evaluate FSS to ensure they stay within job and training compliance

Ensure 10 feet surrounding dumpster/dining facility at the start of each scheduled meal serving period is free of trash, cigarette butts, food waste, and any foreign matter

Monitor and dispense cleaning chemicals

Performs other duties as assigned by dining facility managers

Physical Requirements:

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Work in a standing position in the dining facility and kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours (excluding break and lunch periods)

Climbing ladders for cleaning kitchen hoods

Ability to bend and stoop for job duties

Qualifications:

GED or high school diploma

Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English

One year of supervisory experience and previous food sanitation specialist experience
